We are looking for families to take part in our mental health trial which is looking at preventing anxiety and depression in young people aged 11-15.
Depression and anxiety have a very large impact on the health and wellbeing of young people. For many people, they first start in early adolescence, so efforts to intervene early or to try to prevent depression and anxiety in this age group are extremely important. We have developed a set of parenting guidelines recommending parenting strategies that are supported by the best available evidence to help achieve this.
This trial is designed to find out which of two online programmes is better at helping to prevent anxiety and depression in young people:
1. A personalised programme with up to 9 weekly modules to work through
2. A standard educational package with 5 weekly factsheets
We are working with schools from the UK to recruit parents and carers of young people who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
