Appointments are available from 08.00 – 11.30 and 13.30 – 17.20. Later appointments are available but can only be booked by a GP following a telephone consultation.

Please make sure you book in on arrival so that the receptionist can inform the doctor you are waiting.

Please note that, if you are late arriving (by more than 10 minutes), patients who are on time will go in to see the doctor before you.

Patients failing to keep their appointments and not informing the surgery can cause problems and waste valuable appointment time.

The appointment book is only made up two – three weeks in advance in order to reduce the need to rearrange appointments when doctors are called to meetings at short notice.

Same Day Appointments

Same day appointments are available but can only be booked for acute problems following a telephone consultations with a GP. Please phone the practice to book a telephone consultation with a GP so that they can asses the urgency for an appointment.  The doctors will attend to very ill patients as a priority to avoid patients having to wait for a home visit; please tell the receptionists if you are worried about your child or relative

Routine Appointments

Routine appointments are available to book in advance. You may book an appointment up to 3-4 weeks in advance for all the doctors. Routine appointments are 10 minutes.

Whitchurch Village Practice has introduced the facility to book routine appointments over the internet. this facility is called My Health on Line  (MHOL) and ins maintained by NHS Wales Informative Services (NWIS)

MHOL helps patients avoid busy phone lines to book and cancel appointments out of hours. It is secure and safe for both the practice and patients. Patients accessing this facility will do so via a secure server and at no time can view the actual practice system.

Patients interested in using this tool must express an interest by contacting the practice. The practice will then allocate a pin number and other security details and forward this to each patient.
