Medical education

We are proud to be a training and teaching practice for medical and nursing students. We host placements for Year 1,2,3,4, & 5 medical students and Dr S Gray and Dr K Hashmi are approved GP trainers for training doctors. This may mean that on occasion a student may be present at your appointment.  Your consent for them to sit in will be sought prior to the consultation, however if you would prefer for the student not to be present you may request for the student to be withdrawn from the consultation.

Years 1 and 2 undertake tutorials in practice, year 3 is predominately clinical with the emphasis on acquiring diagnostic skills and the study of illness in acute medical settings, as well as chronic diseases.  In years 4 & 5 students undertake an eight-week course called ‘Medicine in the Community’ within General Practice.

Registrars

We have fully qualified Drs who are looking to become General Practitioners, spending time with us learning the skills they need to become GP’s in a practical situation.

The GP trainees are under the supervision of our Partners but will have appointments and consult with patients.

We are proud to be helping the next generation of GP’s gain the expertise they require.
