Top tips from clinicians to empower parents of poorly children

Clinicians have recently developed some simple and effective leaflets to support GPs and reduce some of the pressures from parents asking for appointments for their children. The idea is to direct parents and guardians to a variety of self-help leaflets; When should I worry? These are available below in both Welsh and English.

The intention of the project is not to block access to appointments for sick children but to inform parents about simple self-management measures they can employ to look after their children. Whilst we will not turn children away, there are a few simple steps that can be taken.  By following these guides you will be freeing up GP appointments desperately needed for sicker patients who do need to be seen.
